A children's charity says it's important pupils feel supported when they are going through times such as the exam period.

Students across the West Midlands have recently been sitting their GCSEs and SATs, with the NSPCC saying they saw an increase last year in people reaching out for help.

Rosie Ellis is the NSPCC Campaigns Officer for the Midlands and says it's vital children don't feel pressured, and that they can talk about their worries.

She said: "Childline delivered almost 2,000 counselling sessions about exam stress last year, which is up 10% since formal exams returned.

"Some of the concerns were about children not sure on what the best ways are to revise, worried about not getting the results they want, and their future.

"As parents and carers and school staff, we can be there to reassure them and make sure they don't feel alone with their worries, and that it's ok to reach out for help."
