Extra police powers in Walsall as investigation into shooting continues
Four people were injured after a gun was fired in Birchills.
Additional officers have been in Walsall overnight as police continue their investigation into armed disorder.
Four people were injured after a gun was fired at a car in Reedswood Lane, Birchills, on Wednesday night (31 July).
Two of the men are in a serious condition and two sustained injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding. He remains in custody for questioning.
Police have been using Section 60 powers overnight, which allow them to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.
They also have extra officers in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.
