Crooked House: owners appeal order to rebuild historic pub

The owners of the Crooked House pub have appealed against an order to rebuild it, after it was demolished following a suspected arson attack.
South Staffordshire Council served an enforcement notice, requiring the building in Himley, near Dudley to be restored, following last August's fire.
The historic landmark was demolished just days after the fire, without permission from authorities.
In a statement, South Staffordshire Council said: "The council served an enforcement notice for the unlawful demolition of the Crooked House on the owners on 27 February 2024.
"The owners had 30 days in which to appeal the notice and we have been advised that an appeal has now been lodged.
"We are now awaiting a date for the appeal and the appointment of a Planning Inspector."
A petition set up to save the Crooked House following it's demolition has reached over 24,000 signatures.
Five men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the fire. All have been released on conditional bail.
