Three arrested after kidnapping and assault in Banbury
Thames Valley Police believe the incidents were targeted, and that there is no wider risk to the public
Three people have been arrested as police investigate a kidnapping and assault in Banbury.
Thames Valley Police say a woman was assaulted, and her two children taken, between the Ruscote Arcade and Ruscote Park between 9 and 11pm on Saturday.
Both children were later found safe and uninjured.
A door was also kicked at a property on Ruscote Arcade at 10:05pm, with attempts made too to smash the windows.
Two men, 38 and 58, and a 35-year-old woman, all from Banbury, have been arrested in connection with the incidents and bailed as investigations continue.
Thames Valley Police are now appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with footage of the incidents, to get in touch.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Bryn Smith, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said:
"I understand these incidents may cause some concern but I would like to reassure the community that we believe that these were targeted incidents, with no threat to the wider public.
"I am appealing to anybody who witnessed either of these incidents to please get in touch with us.
"Additionally, if you have any CCTV footage of the area or any dash-cam footage if you were in the area around the time of the incidents, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
