Thames Valley Police says it is aware of a potential planned protest in Oxford today.
Posting on Facebook, the force says it has a plan in place 'to deal with any issues that may arise.'
The post added: 'Should this planned protest escalate into violent disorder seen elsewhere in the country, officers will swiftly respond and deal with those choosing to cause harm to our communities.
'It is likely you will see officers patrolling in the area as we work together with partners and local businesses to monitor the situation and keep our communities safe.'
Police forces across the country say they have 30 rallies on their radar today - as they look to prevent further disorder following last week’s stabbings in Southport.
The Prime Minister has reiterated his message that those who take part will feel the "full force of the law".
