Thames Valley Police officer accused over relationship with victim
It's alleged that PC Ian Dring had a romantic relationship with a victim in a case that he was investigating in Abingdon.
A serving Thames Valley Police Officer has been charged over an alleged relationship with a victim of a crime he was investigating in Abingdon.
PC Ian Dring, aged 49, has been charged with one count of corrupt or improper exercise of police powers and privileges by a constable.
It relates to the allegation that Dring engaged in a romantic relationship with a victim in a case that he was investigating in the Oxfordshire town.
He was arrested on suspicion of the offences in May last year and following an investigation was charged on 30th August this year.
Dring appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Friday 27th September.
He has now been released on bail to attend Aylesbury Crown Court on 28th October.
Thames Valley Police say Dring is stationed in the South and Vale in Oxfordshire and is currently suspended from duty.
