Police appeal as woman died in Oxfordshire crash

A man also suffered life-changing injuries

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A338 near East Hanney.

A red Mini Cooper and a white Peugeot 208 were involved in the collision between East Hanney and Frilford at around 11.15am on Monday (25/12).

The driver of the Mini, a 61-year-old woman, sadly died at the scene.

The other driver, a man in his thirties, suffered life-changing injuries and remains in hospital.

A man in his fifties, who was a passenger in the Mini, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

The road was closed between the A415 and A417 for several hours while the collision was dealt with.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Nigel Doyle, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“Tragically, a woman has died and a man has suffered life-changing injuries following this collision on Christmas Day; our condolences and thoughts are with their loved ones.

“I am appealing for anyone that witnessed the collision, or saw the cars involved prior to it, to contact us."
