With Spring approaching we've been hearing about plans for this summers Oxford Pride.

The annual LGBTQIA+ celebration will have a host of events building up to the main day on Saturday 8th June.

Oxford's city centre shopping centre will be hosting again this year, as we've been hearing from the Centre Director Brendan Hattam.

He gave us an outline of plans so far: "So for the whole day at Westgate and at Castle Quarter and we'll be hosting the main stages for the Pride event. They'll be lots of entertainment, lots of educational parts of that as well, some exhibitions attached to that and it's something that we do every year."

He told us it's important for the centre to be a part of the events

"You know, Westgate is a big part of the community, obviously in the middle of the city centre. So we like to hold events which you know, reflect and are part of the city community."

"It's nice to enjoy the events as well because it really does enlighten."

Recently the centre hosted an event for World Book Day, last October there were Black History Month Events as well.
