Oxford United Head Coach in tribute to late fan

Oxford United Head Coach, Des Buckingham, has been helping to raise awareness for men’s mental health during the U's Sky Bet EFL Championship home game against Burnley on Saturday.

It comes on the day the Club remembered 24-year-old supporter Jack Badger. There was a minute’s applause on the 24th minute of the game with Burnley, as his image was posted on screens in the ground. It's after the local Abingdon United player sadly took his own life earlier this month.

To help raise awareness, Des took the opportunity to wear a jumper from the mental health campaign brand, Boys Get Sad Too.

The aim of the organisation is to use fashion as a tool to spark positive conversations about mental health amongst men.

Boys Get Sad Too was created in 2018, after the realisation that though 84 men take their lives every week in the UK, the subject of male mental health is often neglected and overlooked.

The campaign aims to make a change by highlighting the topic through conversation-provoking designs.

Boys Get Sad Too are official supporters of CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably) charity who they donate 10% of our profits to, and they actively work to try and raise awareness for the struggles that men face.
