Man jailed on child sex offences in Banbury
It follows a hearing at Oxford Crown Court
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for sex offences against a child in Banbury.
Cameron-John Brady, aged 27, of Thornton Street, Birkenhead was jailed for four years following a hearing at Oxford Crown Court on Monday 7 October.
Following a five-day trial, Brady was found guilty by unanimous jury verdict of three counts of assaulting a child by touching, two counts of assaulting a child by penetration and one count of causing or inciting a child to watch a sexual act.
He was acquitted of two counts of assault of a child by penetration.
In the 2000’s Brady, who was a minor himself when the offences happened, sexually assaulted and abused a child over a number of years.
Brady was voluntarily interviewed on 6 September 2022 and was charged on 29 April last year.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Lucy McDonagh, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said:
“The victim in this case has shown incredible strength and resilience to come forward and report the abuse.
“Perpetrators of sexual abuse towards children must be warned that no matter the passage of time, you will be investigated and held accountable.”
