Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision near Chipping Norton.

Just before 3.20pm on Sunday March 2nd, a blue Suzuki GSX600 motorcycle, which was travelling south west on the A3400 between Over Norton and Long Compton, crashed head on with a maroon Jaguar XF that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Tragically, the motorcycle rider, a man in his fifties, died at the scene. His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Investigating officer PC Paul Culley, of the joint operations roads policing unit, said:

“Very sadly, as a result of this collision, a man has died. The thoughts of all of us at Thames Valley Police are with their family at this extremely upsetting time.

“I would like to appeal to anybody who witnessed this collision to please get in touch.

“I am particularly looking to hear from anyone who may have been driving in the area who may have dash-cam footage which has captured the collision, or the moments leading up to it, to please contact us."
