From April 3rd visitors have been able to get up close with the Museum’s latest star attraction, Damon Hill’s 1996 championship winning Williams FW18 car, which will be on display for around a year.

Speaking to head of learning and engagement at the museum Rob Jaina he said: "I've had a really good look over the car and it's absolutely pristine.

"It's still got the engine and gear box and no we can't start it unfortunately, but this has got Damon's original seat in it, it's even got his initials still on the seat so it's a real piece of history.

"It's a car that's raced here at Silverstone and it's a car that won the Formula one world championship with Damon Hill.

"We will be keeping the car for about a year and a few people might remember it was involved in quite a famous incident here.

"Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill had a coming together here on Priory corner."
