Appeal to find two people who checked on victim's welfare after Oxford attack
It's as investigations continue following the incident last month
Thames Valley Police is releasing a CCTV image of two people who they believe checked on the welfare of the victim following a serious sexual assault in Oxford.
The incident occurred between 3am and 3.30am on 19 November in the churchyard of St Clement’s Church in Marston Road.
The victim, a 20-year-old woman, was walking back from the city centre and was approached by a man who took her into the churchyard and raped her.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Jones, of Oxford CID, said:
“I’m releasing an image of a couple who asked if the victim was OK while they were standing in the doorway of an estate agents on The Plain.
“We are really grateful for their vigilance and intervention but we would like to speak to them to see if they can assist any further.
“I want to make it very clear, these people are witnesses, and not suspects, but they may have further information that could help this investigation.
“One of the images is of the back of the man, who is wearing a distinctive top.
