Coleraine town centre will once again be filled with footballers for the annual SuperCupNI Parade this Sunday.

The event is one of the world's most renowned international youth football tournaments taking place on Sunday 21st to Friday 26th July.

6\4 teams will arrive in Northern Ireland from across the globe over the week playing at various venues across Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Antrim, and Newtownabbey Borough Council, and Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.

The tournament will be contested by some of the world’s leading clubs including Manchester United, Brighton and Hove Albion, West Ham United, Celtic, Rangers, Club Deportivo Toluca, Aston Villa, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As always, the competition kicks off with the Welcoming Parade through the streets of Coleraine.

When and where does the welcoming parade take place?

The welcoming parade for the 2024 SuperCupNI be held in Coleraine on Sunday, July 21.

What time does the parade start?

The parade will leave Coleraine Town Hall at The Diamond at 7pm and proceed through the town via Church Street, Railway Road, to Ballycastle Road and in to Coleraine Showgrounds for the Opening Ceremony at 7.45pm. Admission to Coleraine Showgrounds for the Opening Ceremony is free.

Who is this year's special guest?

Officially opening the tournament this year is Northern Ireland and Leeds United legend Stuart Dallas who played in the tournament several times in his youth.

SuperCupNI chair Victor Leonard said the organisers of the tournament were delighted when Stuart agreed to open the 2024 tournament.

He said: “Stuart’s journey as a footballer is one which we believe will resonate with so many of the young people participating in the tournament this summer.

“He shone in the domestic game locally with Coagh United and Crusaders, before making the well-deserved move to England and you could see from the reaction of Stuart’s announcement that he was having to retire due to injury, just how well respected he is in the game.

“Stuart has been very fulsome of his praise for the tournament, and I know he has very fond memories of his time playing with County Tyrone.”

When do the matches start?

The action gets underway the next day on Monday 22nd July, across three male age groups and two girls’ age groups, with the tournament concluding with finals day on Friday 26th July.

The Parade and Ceremony in Coleraine town was followed by opening ceremony at the Showgrounds.
