Harland and Wolff: company responds to reports surrounding future

The GMB union said today (Wednesday) that its members were concerned over reports surrounding Harland and Wolff.

The Times newspaper reported that British Navy ships may be built in Spain - If the chancellor blocks a support package for the company.

But the company has says the report is not accurate that negotiations are ongoing.

“Our application for a UKEF Export Development Guarantee has not been rejected and the process is ongoing," the statement read.

“We will not comment further on inaccurate speculation.”
