Two Ridings Community Foundation have launched a cost-of-living fund to help charities who support people effected by the cost of living crisis.

£210,000 has already been donated after their launched their appeal.

The fund will give grants to groups who give practical, financial and emotional support to people who are struggling.

The money will also help charities cope with the impact of the cost of living on their own finances. Chief Executive Joan Garell tells us "The idea is that fund will help local community organisations and charities who are supporting people who are at risk of crisis or who are in crisis whether that's getting help around food, heating costs or advice on reduction in debt but also helping charities stay viable themselves."

James Lambert OBE is the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire and the founding donor of the crisis fund. He is appealing to businesses and people all over the region to donate now: “As a local businessman I urge everyone who can to donate to this crucial fund. As High Sheriff I have seen the amazing work that local charities do and know that any money donated is used wisely and well, where it is most needed.”
