UPDATED: Two charged with murder after death of man at York house

Two men have been charged with murder, after police found the body of a man at a house in York.

Officers were called to an 'incident' at a residential property on Markham Crescent shortly before 5.30pm on Wednesday evening (27th October).

They found a 35-year-old man at the property, who had died. Officers say he was not a resident of the property.

North Yorkshire Police say a 37-year-old man and 37-year-old man, from York, have been charged with murder.

Curtis Turpin, 34, of Markham Crescent, appeared at York Magistrates Court this morning. Adam Hudson, 39, of Rowntree Avenue, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court.

They are both due at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday (2nd November).

A third man, arrested in connection to the death, has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

In a previous statement, North Yorkshire Police added: 'You will see increased patrols from our Neighbourhood Policing Team in the local area over the next few days so please do feel free to speak to them if you have any concerns.'
