UPDATE: Whitby swing bridge re-opens after closure

It was closed for tests after a technical issue

Whitby's Swing Bridge has been re-opened, after an earlier closure to all traffic.

It was after a mechanical issue between New Quay Road and Grape Lane earlier today (16 July).

After tests were carried out, it's now able to reopen fully.

North Yorkshire County Council has thanked people for their patience.
