Ukrainians in North Yorkshire say fresh attacks by Russia have left them terrified.

A peaceful demonstration was held in York on Tuesday night (11 October), bringing people together in a show of solidarity for their country.

It took place at St Helen's Square - at the same time Moscow launched another round of missiles and drone attacks on Kyiv and other cities.

Vita was at the protest - but her friends and family are still in Ukraine:

"If you can't talk to them and you don't know if they're alive, it's a terrible situation to be in. I have a daughter and every morning she gets up and asks me questions. She says 'are my grandma and grandpa alive?' It's just terrible.'

Oleksandr was also at the protest in York:

"Our people, our friends who we can't contact - our family, who we can't contact - all because the electricity and water are off. We don't know how our people are feeling now - it's a very bad situation.

"We want to say 'all the world, please help us - help Ukraine'."
