Three people seriously injured after crash near Skipton

Three people have been seriously injured after a crash near Skipton.

It happened between 2.30 and 2.42pm on Sunday, on the Colne and Broughton Road in Broughton - two cars were involved.

The two drivers - a man in his 70s and a man in his 60s - and a female passenger in her 60s - were taken to hospital.

The crash involved a dark blue coloured Vauxhall Astra and a red coloured Mitsubishi Outlander.

The Vauxhall is believed to have been travelling west on the A59 from the direction of Broughton and then southward on the A56 Colne and Broughton Road immediately before the collision.

The Mitsubishi is believed to have been travelling northwards on the A56 Colne and Broughton Road from the direction of Thornton-in-Craven, towards the direction of Broughton immediately before the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
