A Thirsk woman has broken a world record by becoming the first woman to swim the full length of the UK. Jasmine Harrison has completed her 900-mile swimming challenge from Land's End to John O'Groats after several gruelling months at sea.

Despite many challenges along the way, Jasmine has told us it's been an incredible experience: "I had so much wildlife along the way, we've had dolphins, we've had seals and then further up we've had jellyfish as well".

Despite spending up to 10 hours in the water a day Jasmine says she's absolutely loved getting the chance to explore new places: "The fact that I get to go to places I've never been to, I've never been to Cornwall, I then swam to Wales and the Isle of Man, I've never been there before and it's just amazing."

There has also been plenty of challenges with bad weather and different crew members needed on her support team. "It's been very difficult some of the challenges we've had to go through, some huge waves, trying to launch a kayak and navigating through some military bases and keeping safe."

She's been raising money for the Sea Shepherd UK Charity and says she's so thankful for all the support she has had along the way.

It's not the first time Jasmine has broken a world record. Last year she became the youngest woman to row the Atlantic Ocean.
