Scarborough Sixth Form College is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

It was created from what was Scarborough High School for Girls.

Scarborough Sixth Form College says over the last 50 years, they have had strong community links with thousands of local people having either studied at the college themselves or having family members working at or attending the college.

It says quite a number of current staff previously attended the college and have returned to work there as teachers, leaders or support staff.

To celebrate this significant milestone, the college is holding a family festival on Saturday 17th June. The college has changed significantly over the years and the event gives former staff and students the opportunity to meet up, reminisce and see what the college looks like now.

There will be tours of the college, sports events, forest school activities, music, and a talk about the college’s history as well as food and drinks stalls. Visitors will also be able to put their memories on a special memory tree which has been created for the event.

The anniversary festival is free to attend. Anyone interested in going can book their place online.
