Scarborough's Gavin Williamson sacked as Education Secretary

Changes to Boris Johnson's top team has seen Gavin Williamson sacked as education secretary.

Mr. Williamson, who was born in Scarborough, had been under repeated pressure to resign as since his handling of disruption to schools during the pandemic, with many GCSE and A-level students being forced to miss out on desired grades due to cancelled exams.
