The MP for Scarborough and Whitby's been reacting to reports of several people out on the coast this weekend.

Robert Goodwill says police will and do take action in extreme cases.

Cars and people have been seen on Scarborough's North and South Bays.

But Robert says it's more dangerous to be mixing indoors.

He said:

"The majority of transmission, as I'm told by the NHS, is within households.

The good news is that over the last few days, we've seen dramatic reductions in the levels of infection.

For example, in Newby and Scalby, there were 8 cases, compared to 32 over the previous seven days."

Robert's also defending the government's reluctance to tighten restrictions, as the number of infections falls.
