Scarborough runners set off on 24-hour endurance challenge
It's in aid of the local mountain rescue team
Teams of runners will be setting off at 12pm in Scarborough today (Saturday 17 July), for a 24-hour endurance challenge.
The teams will be running around a 2 mile set course, seeing how many laps they can complete in the time.
The 'Run Scarborough' group will be split into teams of 2-12 runners, with some brave individuals taking on the challenge solo.
It's in aid of Scarborough and Ryedale's Mountain Rescue Team.
Paul Sutherns, the group's run leader, told us: "The charity relies solely on fundraising and donations to keep them going, and it costs them over £40,000 just for their running costs.
"Being runners and walkers and cyclists, a lot of us like to go off the beaten track.
"One day, we may need their services, so we just wanted to show them some support."
