Anger as fans "turned away" from Ricky Gervais gig in York
The comedian said the reports were "heartbreaking"
Promoters are investigating claims Ricky Gervais fans were turned away from his gig in York on Wednesday because they had tickets from a resale site.
Claims have emerged on social media that staff at the York Barbican had told people the tickets weren't valid because the same seats had been sold "over and over again."
Gervais has replied to fans on Twitter, saying event company LiveNation were investigating what happened.
Prior to the show, York Barbican had said: "At the request of the production, latecomers will not be admitted once Ricky Gervais is on stage.
"Please ensure you arrive early, with enough time to pass through relevant security checks. ID matching the lead bookers’ name may be required on entry."
