Police charge 18-year-old man with rape in Scarborough

Detectives investigating a report of rape in Dean Road Cemetery in Scarborough on Sunday (21st July) have charged an 18-year-old man.

He's been remanded in police custody to appear at York Magistrates Court today (23rd July)

A 21-year-old man who was also arrested at the time has been released on conditional bail to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information and witnesses from anyone in the area overnight on 20th to 21st July who believes they can assist with enquiries
