Police appeal for information after a woman is hit by car in Stokesley

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a woman suffered serious leg injuries when she was hit by a car in Stokesley.

It happened at around 12pm yesterday (31 July) in the car park just off Stokesley High Street.

The woman, who is in her 70s, is believed to have been struck by a red Vauxhall Astra and was taken to James Cook Hospital for treatment to her injuries.

Officers say they are not believed to be life threatening at this time and the driver of the vehicle has been interviewed by police.

The area was cordoned off for a short time while the scene of the collision was examined.

Officers are now asking anyone in the area, particularly those who used the car park at around 12pm, to check dashcam footage to see if the incident has been captured on their cameras and to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
