North Yorkshire's Police, Fire and Crime Panel will be holding its next meeting in public online.

It will be broadcast live on Thursday 14th October and members of the public can submit questions.

The panel said:

"Following the high level of interest expressed to the Panel by members of the public and reporters wishing to attend, the decision has been made to hold this meeting online and for it to be live broadcasted and recorded. This measure is in place to ensure full transparency of proceedings to the wider public, without having to restrict numbers present during the pandemic.

"Anyone who would like to watch the meeting can do so via the County Council’s website.

"Any member of the public who would like to put a question or statement to the Panel should submit the question in advance by emailing nypcp@northyorks.gov.uk before midday on 11th October, so that it may be considered for inclusion in the meeting.

"Please note that the Panel is unable to consider questions or statements for the Commissioner. The Panel’s rules on public questions are available here.

"Panel Members will not be commenting further at this stage regarding the recent statements made by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner in respect of the Sarah Everard case. The Panel meeting on the 14th will provide an opportunity for this matter to be properly explored and for Members to ask questions or give views at that point."
