More than 175,000 first doses of Covid vaccines have been administered in North Yorkshire.

It is as the numbers in hospitals with the virus remain higher than the first wave of the pandemic.

Amanda Bloor from North Yorkshire's Clinical Commissioning Group said:

"It's with massive thanks to all of the teams delivering the vaccines in the local vaccination sites, in the hospital hubs, and in the large scale sites and also to all the volunteers that are supporting those arrangements and local authority colleagues.

"We are confident that we will reach the Government's target by this weekend. We are now though actively asking anyone over the age of 70 or who's clinically, extremely vulnerable who hasn't been contacted about a vaccine to come forward now.

"I'd also say to anyone who's been contacted but decided to not have the vaccine to please think again. If you now feel ready to have the vaccine do make contact, the vaccine is there for you. If you've said no once, it doesn't mean you can't change your mind."
