Staff at North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have been looking back on the last twelve months.
They are one of many services which had to adapt by delivering food parcel, prescriptions, and checking in on those who were self-isolating.
Jonathan Foster, Deputy Chief Fire Officer, said:
"Operational crews did a really good job of making contacts with those people. We made contact with in excess of 5,000 people through telephone and getting in touch with them that way, so crews have been really busy.
"We had crews phoning people to make sure they were OK, making sure that any needs they had were being satisfied, check them on their fire safety measures in their home and making sure that they were safe whilst they were self-isolating.
"The purpose that we exist is to serve the public, that's why we're here, and it's all about what we can do to make the public safe. We've tried really hard to do that and we continue to do so going forward.
"It does make me proud and we've had some really difficult and challenging times because this affects everyone and naturally, we need to keep provision of being able to respond to emergencies but also we're supporting all our agencies and all our people."
