We're hearing how businesses in North Yorkshire are still trying to get back on their feet after flooding hit parts of our County.

Ruth Richards runs Tea by the Lock in Naburn and has only just managed to re open for the first time since before Christmas after becoming surrounded by water.

She says the pressure is now on to make up profits: "It's quite a concern because I’ve been closed for the best part of five weeks now and the business has taken a big hit. I am surviving but it’s a scary, scary time.

"The water did come in the room at the back, in my part of the building so there is still cleaning up going on there but fortunately it didn’t come into the tea room area."

"I usually flood every January in February. It’s unusual to be closed or to flood before Christmas, but in the last couple of months this is the fifth flood and quite a long one."
