Multi-vehicle crash on A1 closes motorway
The collision involving three vehicles happened near Ferrybridge this lunchtime

Emergency services including the air ambulance are responding to a 'serious collision' on the A1 near Ferrybridge and are warning drivers to use alternative routes.
The crash involved three vehicles and was reported just after 12.30pm on the A1 southbound near J41.
The A1 southbound has been closed between J41 (M62) and J40 (Ferrybridge) and is expected to be closed for some time. The northbound carriageway is also currently closed.
West Yorkshire Police says three people are reported to have sustained serious injuries. A number of others were also reported to be walking wounded.
