Man seriously injured in assault in York

A 39 year-old man's been arrested - after a man was seriously injured in an assault in York.
Police were called to an incident outside The Terrace Sports Bar on Fossgate just before 10.20pm yesterday.
The victim, a 46 year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
His family are being supported by specially trained police officers.
The man who was arrested remains in police custody.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "CCTV shows several people on the street at time of the incident.
"Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the inicient or who has information as they could have vital information which could help the investigation."
