A man's been arrested on suspicion of arson - after two vehicles were set on fire in Skipton.

It happened around 3.45am on Saturday in the Hurrs Road area - a shed at an address on the road was also set alight.

The 25 year-old man has been released on bail - police are asking for anyone with information to contact them.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, they are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or anyone CCTV of the incident.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101."
