A teenager from Harrogate is returning to our TV screens tonight (16th September), as series 2 of All Creatures Great and Small returns to Channel 5.

Imogen Clawson made her TV debut in series 1 of the remake last year, and returns to the role of Jenny Alderson for the second series.

The series, filmed in Grassington, follows the early career of legendary Yorkshire vet James Herriot.

The sister of Helen Alderson (played by Rachel Shenton), Imogen describes her character as "very focused on the idea of becoming a farm girl when she's older."

This season, Jenny becomes "more sassy, a little bit older, coming into her own a little bit, becoming a little bit more independent, which is really nice to see and really nice to perform," Imogen adds.

Jenny takes a central role in the opening episode of series 2, which is set three months after the end of series 1 in Spring 1938.

Her dog, Scruff, forces James to start talking again to Helen, who had been keeping a low profile since leaving Hugh Hulton at the altar.

Imogen told Hits Radio: "School teachers seeing me on TV, it's pretty mental. All my friends saw it and were really supportive. The remake was also trying to target younger audiences as well, so that was really great.

"Seeing everyone for series 2 was so fun. I think it's something I needed after the Christmas lockdown, when we started filming in March. Being back at school and being back at All Creatures filming was so much fun and really exciting. It's obviously something I want to do in the future so it teaches me so much.

"I know that this is sort of what I want to do. I'm going into my first year of doing my GCSEs, I'm doing drama GCSE and a couple of other bits. I'm also going to focus on that as well, because, you know, the future and things!"

All Creatures Great and Small returns tonight (Thursday 16th September 2021) on Channel 5 at 9pm.
