A new bus service has been set up, to transport patients to Scarborough and Hull hospitals, from Bridlington.

The H2H service, which will also benefit patients in Goole and Howden, was set up thanks to a successful Lottery bid for £203,975.

It's being run by community transport groups Holderness Area Rural Transport (H.A.R.T.)_ and _Goole Gofar.

The funding enables both group to provide the service over the next three years.

Councillor Jane Evison, Chair of H.A.R.T., said: "HART and Goole Gofar have worked together under the company name East Yorkshire Community Transport (EYCT) to jointly make this lottery bid and we are so very pleased that the work we do has been recognised & supported by the Lottery with this amazing financial support.

"Community Transport has an important role to play in our area and demand always outstrips resource, we are able to help so many people who have difficulty getting access to transport. Our role has been even more important over the last 14 months when we have been helping many of our passengers to attend hospital appointments and more recently get to centres to receive their covid vaccinations.

"We are grateful to ERYC for the support they continue to provide, together we hope to help many more people get to their hospital appointments.

"We will also be using the money to encourage more volunteers to help us run these new important services."
