York City FC has reversed a plan to hire out Bootham Crescent, less than 24 hours after announcing it.

The club's old stadium was going to host Hull City FC under-23s for four matches in February and March.

But they say - after receiving feedback from supporters - the commercial deal has been withdrawn.

It's after the Minstermen played their first game at the LNER Community Stadium.

"You asked. We listened."

Posting on social media, York City FC said:

"After the devastating impact of the pandemic on the club’s income we had intended to hire Bootham Crescent to Hull City FC for four matches, to bring some much-needed funds into the club, but after receiving feedback from supporters these games will not go ahead.

"Your feedback is noted and valued. Thank you."
