The North Yorkshire Police and Fire headquarters were evacuated for much of Friday afternoon
The headquarters of the North Yorkshire Police and Fire & Rescue Services is back open as normal today - after an evacuation on Friday (27th October) saw the site cleared for much of the afternoon.
A member of the public turned up at the offices in Northallerton with a box of grenades found during a house clearance and an army bomb disposal team had to be called in to make them safe.
All staff had to leave the area whilst that was carried out, nobody was hurt.
