A Wisbech family is hoping to lift people's spirits this Christmas thanks to its latest display.

Sarah Berry has been putting a lights display together, including snowmen and a musical train, outside her home since 2019 to give something for people to smile about.

"I put a few (lights) out and I got a lot of good feedback from it, and seeing their faces it was amazing," she said.

"We have a range of kids come in and it's absolutely lovely for them and the adults to see the faces and smiles."

The effort, which Sarah believes has cost "thousands", is funded by her with any donations going towards the display for the following year.

Sarah's children also dress up in line with a chosen Christmas theme, this year's being the animated fantasy film Frozen.

One of the characters, 'Olaf', said "we get a proud feeling because we're doing something good; life can be a bit dull so this is a brightener.

Father Christmas also makes an appearance each year for people in St Michael's Avenue to meet.

"I'm very pleased and proud, and I do get enjoyment seeing the kids happy," Sarah added.

"I'm sure people do enjoy it every year when it's Christmastime because they actually get lighting on the street when it's not pitch black!"

The display on St Michael's Avenue is on show until December 20.
