A man, formally from Wisbech, who thought he was talking to three teenage girls online, has been sentenced.

52-year-old Fougo Humberto, has avoided jail, and sentencted to 15 months in prison, suspended for two years, at Peterborough Crown Court.

He had pleaded guilty to two counts each of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child, attempting to cause a child 13 to 15 to watch an image of sexual activity and attempting to cause/incite a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

Humberto thought he was speaking to the 'girls', who were all decoys from an online child activist group, in April 2021.

To the first victim, posed as a 12-year-old girl, he sent an inappropriate video and encouraged her to touch herself. A second victim, posed as a 13-year-old girl, he complimented her and sent another video.

The final victim also received a video.

Humberto was arrested at Bush Hill Park Railway Station in Enfield in London, on April 16th, 2021, after being lured there by the activist group.

DC Zip Lloyd said: “Although Fougo Humberto didn’t commit any contact offences, he still looked to potentially harm children so I am glad he has faced justice.

“The effects of child abuse on victims can be incredibly serious and we will always look to help bring the perpetrators to justice.”
