A farmer in Norfolk is calling on the Chancellor to 'restore trust' with those in the sector, through fair support aimed at boosting food production and protecting the environment.

In two days, Rachel Reeves will give an update on the Government's economic plans- via the Spring Spending Review - which could see tweaks made from the Autumn budget.

"I'd like to see farming put on a level footing"

Nick Deane lives in Hoveton:

"We know without the impacts of climate change the challenges for water in the East are going to increase substantially over the next thirty years, with population grwoth driving a lot of that.

"Add climate change onto that- it means that we're going to get infrequent and unreliable amounts of rain that will just exacerbate the issue further- if nothing is done.

"Therefore, I'd like to see farming put on a level footing when it comes to dividing this scarce resource up.

"As it stands, the Environment Agency seem to be evolving a policy where the environment comes first, public supply second and agriculture is very much at the bottom of the list".
