Lorry driver arrested after man dies in crash in Brampton

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area

A man has been arrested following a fatal collision in Brampton, near Aylsham.

Officers were called to Buxton Road at 12.11pm this afternoon (Monday 24 March 2025) following a collision involving a lorry and a car.

The driver of the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.

The passenger of the car has been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The road has been closed and is expected to remain shut for several hours. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help the investigation.
