Hemsby's lifeboat service is again out of action for the foreseeable future, due to recent coastal erosion which has worn away at their launch ramp

The village's independent lifeboat say the wind, rain and high tides can damaged the send there, leaving a drop to the beach of about five feet.

The crew say this means means those from Gorleston or Caister would now have to respond to local emergencies, at sea.

Coastal erosion's previously left the lifeboat unable to launch on more than one occasion.

Earlier this year:

In January, Hemsby Lifeboat told us it's preparing to relocate its station - due to ongoing threats from coastal erosion.

After around five metres of coast there was lost to the sea between January 13th and 14th.

They say they'll be looking to move within the next 12-18 months.
