Man charged after cannabis factory shut down in Norwich
We reported earlier this week that police discovered a farm on Dowson Road.
Police have charged a man following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Norwich.
Officers executed a drugs warrant at a property on Dowson Road, Norwich at around 7am on Wednesday (6th November).
During a search of the property, officers discovered 166 cannabis plants along with hydroponics equipment- a way of growing plants without soil, by using water-based mineral nutrient solutions in an artificial environment.
A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
27-year-old Denis Corri, of no fixed address, was charged with producing a controlled class A drug (cannabis) and abstracting electricity.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 7th November) and was remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance on 9th December.
Operation Orbit- launched last month- to tackle serious and organised criminality in Norfolk and Suffolk has seen officers seize cannabis valued over £8million and make 160 arrests since it's inception.
