Three people have been arrested over the disappearance of a man from North Tyneside.
Robert Scott Clive, who lived originally in Stranraer, was last seen in the North Shields area in October 2002.
He was reported as missing by his family but his body has never been found.
Two men and a woman are being questioned on suspicion of murder.
We have arrested three people as part of our investigations into the disappearance of Robert Scott Clive.
Northumbria Police statement
Upon receiving new information, we have arrested two men – aged in their 40s and 50s – and a woman – aged in her 40s – on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody at this time.
We are continuing our searches at an address on Coronation Street in North Shields as part of our investigations.
However, we believe people in the local community, specifically those who lived on Coronation Street at the time of Scott’s disappearance, may still have information that could prove key to our investigation.
We are urging them to come forward.
