A North East comedian is sharing the secrets of life as a stand up - as his new documentary premieres in Newcastle next weekend.
Jarrow born Carl Hutchinson is launching "That's the Show" at the Tyneside Cinema on the 11th of May - the result of getting a film crew to follow him on his biggest ever tour in the UK last year.
Carl expressed his excitement for the event, saying that "the fact that we get to open the documentary at the Tyneside is really cool.
"I was just there the other week watching Peppa Pig with my daughter.
"About 10 years ago I actually performed there too, back when I was just starting out.
"Fast forward 10 years I’ve got about 6 tours under my belt and a very cool documentary to show for it.
"I really can’t wait to show the people of Newcastle how talented MOTIF are, they’ve really made something out of absolutely nothing".
Carl is a regular fixture at Laffs For Kids - the Christmas comedy event supporting our own charity Cash For Kids' Mission Christmas appeal.
The film's director Tautvydas Baranauskas wanted to make sure that we see the "rawness of the experience that Carl goes through off stage as well as the ups and downs that have brought him to this point in his career.
"The result is a film that we're all really proud of that isn't just a guy walking on stage and making people laugh but explores different areas of what it is to do what he does for a job."
Also starring alongside Carl in the documentary are fellow comedians and local legends such as Anth Young and Chris Ramsey.
