MOD investigating after confident papers found in Newcastle street
They were seemingly from the Army's site in Catterick Garrison
The Ministry of Defence say they're urgently investigating after papers containing confidential military information were found on a Newcastle street.
They were discovered earlier this month in the Scotswood area - with papers seemingly linked to the army's Catterick Garrison site. in North Yorkshire.
A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said:
“We are aware that documentation allegedly relating to the department was recently handed in to the Police.
“We are looking into this urgently and the matter is the subject of an ongoing internal investigation.”
