Women Suffers Serious Injuries In City Centre Fall

A woman has suffered serious injuries after she apparently slipped and fell from a footbridge in Manchester City centre.

Police and paramedics were called to London Road - after she fell from the bridge near Piccadilly station at around 11.30 investigations are now underway into how it happened.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “Officers were called to a road side near Manchester Piccadilly station on Wednesday, 4th November after reports that a woman had fallen from a footbridge. The incident was reported at 11.27am.

“BTP officers attended with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service. A woman was treated for injuries at the scene and was taken to hospital for further assessment.

“Officers are investigating the circumstances as to how the woman fell from the bridge.”
