Woman Attacked And Robbed In Hattersley
Police are warning people in Hattersley to be careful walking alone at night, after a woman was attacked and robbed.
The 44 year old woman was walking close to Fields Farm Close near Hattersley train station at around 8.30pm on Sunday the 8th of November, when she was approached from behind by a group of men.
They punched her and she fell to the floor, before they kicked her in the head and body and then fled with her handbag.
Police believe there were three or four men aged between 18 and 20-years-old.
Police Sergeant John Kilgallon of Tameside division said:
“The women sustained bruising to her head, face arms and legs and was left very shaken after the attack.
“This was a cowardly robbery on a woman walking alone and we are determined to find out who is responsible.
"I would appeal to anyone who saw the assault to come forward and I want to remind people walking alone at night to be vigilant.”
